Our nod to the classic, The Great Gatsby, this 1920s murder mystery party game will have your guests dressing up to attend a dinner party at the elusive Mr. Foxx’s mansion. While many of our other mysteries are set in speakeasies, this mystery game takes place at a mansion and will have your and your mystery party guests discovering not only whodunit, but also who is the mysterious Mr. Foxx!
The year is 1922 and the Roaring 20s are just getting underway. The end of the war has meant the start of a renewed sense of passion and joie de vive. Unfortunately, two years ago the government implemented prohibition, the ban of the sale, manufacture and transport of alcohol, giving rise to smuggling, organized crime and allowing enterprising members of “regular” society to become millionaires virtually overnight.
Welcome to Lands End, a grand estate on the tip of Sands Point, Long Island. The owner, an elusive millionaire named Mr. Foxx, throws lavish parties each weekend, but has never been seen. Tonight, he will break his silence and come out from the shadows to reveal himself to an exclusive, and bafflingly varied group of guests.
But when a guest is found floating in the pool, clearly murdered, the dinner party turns into an investigation, and every guest is a suspect! Become a sleuth and discover the killer, and, if you can, the identity of The Sly Mr. Foxx – the killer could be you!
This mystery has murder and is rated 3/5 on the “clean” scale. In addition to the murder, there is reference to affairs and drinking. As with all of our mysteries, there is no foul language.

Great time! This was our second murder mystery party and it generates huge fanfare each time. The mysteries are set up to be challenging but not overly challenging and its great that everyone can participate without knowing who the killer is beforehand! This company is great to work with and is always accommodating to questions.
The best party – EVER! Shot in the Dark Mysteries made the planning so easy that we could focus on making our basement look like an 80s prom. Our theme was “Chiller Thriller” and we had a blast decorating. Every person that came said they had so much fun and wanted to host their own parties. The idea that no knows who the killer is works so well. Thanks Shot in the Dark Mysteries for providing an easy, fabulous way to have fun with friends!
I love Shot in the Dark mysteries! They made so many of our parties (birthdays, new years, just because!) extra special by getting our friends engaged in solving the crimes! They’re such a great value, and even our friends that aren’t extroverts can get into being a character and sleuthing. I also love that I am able to host and participate in the murder mystery!
